Shaker Shops West

Since the inception of Shaker Shops West in 1975,
we have felt challenged to meet the standards of quality
in our reproductions that the name Shaker implies.
Virtually all the products of Shaker craftsmanship seem to radiate a special vitality.
Perhaps this is why Shaker is considered classic.
It has been a special pleasure for us to introduce Shaker design to the western states.
Thus, we proudly bear the "West" at the end of our name.
For years collectors have recognized the value of fine Shaker furniture and hand-crafts.
However, originals are scarce and costly,
which creates a real need for honest reproductions sensibly priced.
We have been committed to serving this need since 1975.
It is our privilege to offer you a wide selection of the most popular Shaker designs
for contemporary living, as well as a number of unique compatible items.
The Shakers have always been noted for holding fast to the very highest standards,
not only in the manufacture of their products, but also in their business dealings.
It is a primary objective of Shaker Shops West to keep to these same standards.
With the closing of their chair factory at New Lebanon in the early 1940s,
the Shakers discontinued furniture making.
However, the remaining Shakers still make a few products in limited quantity
which we are pleased to offer you.
It is our hope that this catalog brings a new appreciation
of the rich heritage that the Shakers have contributed.
